Woodroffe Benton Foundation – Small Grants Programme

The Woodroffe Benton Foundation provides small grants to UK charities working to improve the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people. The Foundation particularly supports smaller organisations where modest grants can make a significant difference.

Their next Small Grant funding round will be open from 1st to 31st August 2026 and the focus will be on projects that support people, particularly those with physical or learning disabilities, to access the natural world and spend time outdoors.

Applications are accepted from registered charities. CICs and other non-charitable organisations are not normally eligible. The Foundation does not generally fund individuals, overseas projects or activities outside its charitable objectives.

Grant amounts
Small grants of up to £2,500 are available.

Application process
Applications are made using the Foundation’s online application form. Applicants should provide details of their organisation, the project or activity, and how the grant will benefit beneficiaries.

Any specific tips to apply
The Foundation favours straightforward applications from smaller charities. Clearly explain the need, demonstrate how a relatively small grant will make a tangible difference, and provide measurable outcomes. Requests for specific pieces of work or equipment are often stronger than broad appeals.
