The LGBT+ Fund, managed by Consortium, supports grassroots organisations working to improve the lives of LGBT+ people across the UK.
Priority themes
Youth Joy Fund – Grants of £5,000 to £25,000
Supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, this £300,000 programme aims to improve the wellbeing, confidence and sense of belonging of LGBT+ young people aged 11–25.
Funding can support youth activities, community events, trips and other positive experiences that help young people develop friendships, strengthen their connections with others and feel more accepted within their communities.
Eligibility and exclusions
The Youth Joy Fund is restricted to organisations in England that already provide services for LGBT+ young people. Applicants must have at least two years’ experience of youth work, with LGBT+ people leading the relevant provision.
Deadlines
- Youth Joy Fund: 18 November 2026, 12 noon.
Application process
Applications are submitted online through the LGBT+ Fund website. Applicants should complete the eligibility checker and review the programme guidance before applying.
Written and video applications are accepted, and support is available for organisations that need assistance completing their application.
Tips for applicants
Both programmes prioritise grassroots organisations and communities experiencing barriers to accessing opportunities and funding.
Applicants should demonstrate a clear understanding of the needs of the people they support and explain how their activities will improve wellbeing, participation, confidence and community connections.
The Youth Joy Fund particularly values projects shaped by young people themselves, while the Get Active Fund prioritises inclusive activities that enable LGBT+ people who might otherwise be excluded to become more physically active.
