Bernard Piggott Charitable Trust

About the funder
The Bernard Piggott Charitable Trust has been supporting charities for more than 50 years, with a specific geographical focus on North Wales and the greater Birmingham area.

Priority themes they want to fund
The Trust has unusually broad priorities, supporting work around older people and care, young people and education, health and disability, poverty, community activities, arts and theatre, historic buildings, faith, animals and the environment.

Applications are restricted to registered charities with a Charity Commission registration number, so CICs are not eligible. Projects must take place in North Wales or the greater Birmingham area.

Grants generally range from £250 to £5,000.

There is no published fixed deadline – applications can currently be submitted through the Trust’s online application system.

Applicants complete an online form and provide supporting information about their charity and proposed project. Children’s charities must also provide their Safeguarding and Child Protection Policies. With such broad funding priorities, the key will be demonstrating a clear local benefit and making a specific, proportionate request. For smaller North Wales charities in particular, this is definitely one to have on the funding list.
