Registered charities and other not-for-profit organisations in the UK are now
eligible to apply for grants of over £10,000. There is no set limit but most grants
are expected to be for between £20,000 and £40,000 per year. Funding is
available for work under the following themes (and is open all year)
‘Better futures’ improving vulnerable young people’s lives. Funding is available
for organisations working with vulnerable young people aged 11 to 24 years, to
develop their social and emotional capabilities, including confidence, resilience,
problem-solving and positive relationships.
‘Healthier finances’ tackling financial poverty. Funding is available to support
people to develop money management skills, to maximise their income, and
avoid debt and costly credit wherever possible. Support is also available for the
development of affordable credit and financial services.
‘Safer lives’ reducing violence, abuse and exploitation. Funding is available to
empower people to avoid harmful situations, provide specialist support to those
in need and tackle the root causes of the problems it seeks to address.
‘Fairer society’ ensuring people overcome inequality. Funding is available to
support marginalised groups of people to have a voice in decisions that affect
their lives as well as groups tackling some of the root causes of injustice by
working together towards a fairer society.
