After careful consideration, The Schroder Charity Trust’s Board of Trustees have made the decision to temporarily close our grants programme.

This closure will allow us to undertake a review of our grant making programme and strategy for 2025 and beyond.

The Schroder Charity Trust has been providing one-off grants of up to £5,000 towards a broad range of charitable purposes for a significant period.  However, in recent years the volume of applications has increased to an unsustainable level.

Recent analysis has identified that the current success rate for grant applications is approximately 1 in 14.  Recognising that the majority of applicants are investing time and resources into proposals that are ultimately unsuccessful, and also reflecting on the impact this has on our own small team, we do not deem the current grants programme to be effective.  We have therefore decided to take some time to consider how best to operate in the future. 

They anticipate reopening the grants programme in early 2025.

Please note that applications received prior to the temporary closure are being processed and applicants will be notified of the outcome by December 2024.
