The 4814 Trust

The 4814 Trust is a family-led grant-making charity that supports ambitious early-stage charities and CICs tackling some of society’s most pressing challenges. The Trust aims to build long-term relationships with organisations, providing both funding and strategic support to help them grow and increase their impact.

Priority themes they want to fund
The Trust supports organisations working in areas including mental health, homelessness, poverty, social injustice, exploitation, crime prevention, disability, end-of-life care, and support for disadvantaged children and young people. They are particularly interested in innovative organisations with strong leadership and a clear vision for the future.

Exclusions
The Trust specifically states that it supports both charities and CICs. Funding is generally aimed at organisations creating meaningful social impact rather than statutory services or purely commercial ventures.

Grant amounts
No formal grant size is published. Funding is discretionary and tailored to the needs and potential of the organisation.

Deadlines
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Application process
There is no standard application form. Organisations are invited to email a compelling introduction covering their background, approach, impact to date, challenges and future ambitions, along with their most recent accounts. Selected organisations may then be invited to discuss their work further with the Trust.

Any specific tips to apply
The Trust is looking for organisations with a distinctive approach, evidence of impact and ambitious plans for growth. Focus on what makes your work different, the change you are creating, and how additional support could help you reach the next stage of development.
