The UK Government has launched the Muslim War Memorial Fund to create a permanent national memorial recognising the contribution and sacrifice of Muslim servicemen and women who served alongside Britain during the First and Second World Wars. The successful organisation will also deliver an education programme to raise awareness of this often-overlooked chapter of British history.
Priority themes they want to fund
The fund will support the design, construction and long-term delivery of a permanent, publicly accessible memorial in England. It also aims to promote education, remembrance, interfaith understanding and community engagement.
Exclusions and if they fund CICs
Eligible applicants include registered charities, CIOs, companies limited by guarantee, CICs and public sector organisations based in England. Consortium applications are welcomed, provided there is a lead organisation.
Grant amounts
A single grant of up to £970,000 is available, comprising:
- Up to £950,000 capital funding
- Up to £20,000 revenue funding
