The Innholders’ Charitable Foundation

The charity arm of the Worshipful Company of Innholders in the City of London, the Foundation supports smaller organisations engaged in work with the young, the elderly and the hospitality industry.

Priority themes they want to fund
The Foundation gives one‑off awards primarily for projects benefiting young people, older adults and those working in or supported by the hospitality sector.

Exclusions & whether they fund CICs
Eligible applicants include UK‑registered charities, CIOs, community interest companies (CICs) and CASCs with annual income under £1.5 million. They do not fund individuals, overseas projects, travel or expeditions, or organisations operating outside England and Wales.

Deadlines
The Charity Committee meets three times each year — in March, June and December — and applications should be submitted ahead of the relevant meeting.

Application process
Applicants must complete the online application form, check eligibility in advance, and after any successful grant must submit a short impact report. Smaller charities are particularly encouraged to apply.

Any specific tips to apply
• Emphasise how your project supports young people, older adults or links with hospitality.
• Ensure your income is under the threshold (£1.5 million).
• Provide clear outcomes and show you are based in England or Wales. Favour London centric projects
• Include evidence of governance and financial control, and prepare for submission before the committee meeting.
• Remember, they favour smaller charities where a £500–£5,000 grant will make a real difference.
