About the funder
The IT4Good Grant Programme is run by the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT) Charity, a national UK charity that supports initiatives using technology to create positive social impact. Their purpose is to harness the power of tech to improve lives through digital inclusion, education, charitable services and public engagement.
Priority themes they want to fund
The programme funds IT-related projects and activities that align with one or more of the following themes: education, inclusion, tech for charities, and public understanding of technology. Examples include development and delivery of new digital services, solutions, training, apps, analytics, AI/robotics features, assistive tech or accessibility hardware/software. Projects that demonstrate innovative use of technology, sustainability and potential for wider replication are prioritised.
Eligibility
Grants are open to registered charities, educational establishments, CICs and other formal not-for-profit organisations across the UK. Applicants must show proof of charitable status, audited accounts, safeguarding policy and, for CICs, a Person with Significant Control Register.
Grant amounts & use
Grants of up to £15,000 are available to support technology-focused projects; in exceptional circumstances, larger amounts may be considered. Funds can support development, delivery and technical components of initiatives that align with the programme’s priorities.
Application process & deadlines
Applications are submitted online via the WCIT Charity’s portal. The programme typically runs multiple funding rounds each year, with upcoming deadlines including 22 October 2025 and 6 February 2026. Decisions are made after committee review at scheduled meetings.
Any specific tips to apply
Strong applications clearly explain how the project uses technology to achieve measurable community or educational outcomes, why funding is needed, and how the work will be sustainable or scalable. Highlighting potential for tech innovation, inclusion and community benefit will strengthen your case.
