Young Women in Mind 2026–2028

Young Women in Mind is a new joint funding programme from the The Pilgrim Trust, Prudence Trust and Julia Rausing Trust. Together, the funders will invest £5 million over three years to strengthen mental health support for girls and young women aged 14–25 across the UK.

The programme has been developed in response to growing concerns around worsening mental health outcomes for young women and the barriers many face in accessing timely, appropriate support. Funding is intended to help charities expand and improve therapeutic mental health services that are specifically designed for young women.

The fund will support organisations to:

  • Expand targeted therapeutic provision
  • Improve physical spaces used for support delivery
  • Reduce barriers to access and engagement
  • Strengthen outreach and communication
  • Develop staff skills and organisational capability

Grants of between £200,000 and £500,000 over three years are available.

The programme is open to UK registered charities already delivering therapeutic mental health services for girls and young women aged 14–25. Eligible organisations must operate in Northern Ireland, Scotland, the North of England or the Midlands, although national charities are also eligible.

This is not a fund for brand new projects; funders are looking to strengthen and scale existing services with a proven track record and clear evidence of need and impact.

Key dates:

  • Stage 1 deadline: 22 June 2026
  • Stage 2 deadline: 24 August 2026
  • Funding decisions: November 2026

To strengthen an application, organisations should clearly demonstrate the level of unmet need, how their therapeutic model supports young women effectively, and how additional funding will increase access and improve long-term outcomes.
