Fat Beehive

A great niche fund for charities looking to strengthen their digital presence and impact. The Fat Beehive Foundation offers grants of up to £2,500 to help small charities develop websites or digital tools that improve how they deliver services and reach beneficiaries.

What they fund

This is specifically for discrete digital projects, such as:
• New or improved websites
• Digital platforms to support service delivery
• Online tools that improve efficiency and access

The focus is on using digital to create real social benefit, not just improving branding.

Key details

  • Up to £2,500 (can cover 100% of project costs)
  • Open to UK registered charities with income under £1 million
  • Rolling applications, with decision rounds in April and October
  • Next deadline: 30 September 2026

Priorities

The Foundation is particularly keen to support:
• Hard-to-fund groups (e.g. refugees, prisoners, disadvantaged young people)
• Organisations where digital improvements will unlock reach, access or efficiency

What won’t be funded

  • General IT equipment (e.g. laptops, servers)
  • Core costs or staffing
  • Organisations without capacity to deliver the project

Top tip: This is about function, not just design—strong applications clearly show how your digital project will improve outcomes (e.g. more people accessing support, easier referrals, better engagement).

You’ll need at least one quote and be ready to start within 3 months of award.
