Priority Areas:
Currently, the Trustees are focusing on five main streams (review ongoing, but these remain active):
- Evangelical Christian Faith – theological education and training (UK), faith development for ages teens to 30s, and outreach via English cathedrals.
- Health & Social Care – Ageing – research, training, and models of care improving quality of life and end-of-life care in the UK.
- Performing Arts (Music & Theatre) – nurturing talent (esp. from disadvantaged backgrounds), including young professionals and capital projects for talent development.
- Overseas Development – projects in Nepal and Bangladesh improving educational/employment opportunities for women, girls, and people with disabilities.
- Science & Engineering Innovation – not yet open; a fund is being developed.
Grants rarely support core or ongoing delivery costs or individuals.
Eligibility & Coverage:
- UK-registered charities or churches with exempt status.
- Applications accepted any time, with no deadlines—as part of the Laing Family Trusts, applications are directed to whichever Trust aligns best
Grant Amounts:
Typically range from £2,000 to £20,000, depending on the nature of the project.

- Start with an Eligibility Quiz on the Laing Family Trusts website.
- Download and complete the cover sheet.
- Submit a full project proposal by post (email not accepted). Applications are automatically considered by all four Laing Trusts and directed accordingly.
