The McCarthy Stone Foundation is inviting grassroots charities, constituted community groups, and community interest companies (CICs) with incomes under £250,000 to apply for their Creating Connections Grant Programme. This year, over 20 grants of up to £7,500 will be awarded to support organisations working to reduce loneliness and isolation among adults aged 65+ in England, Wales, and Scotland

Registered charities, community groups with a constitution, or CICs limited by guarantee.

Annual income must be under £250k.

Dementia-specific groups are not eligible this round (there will be a separate Dementia Grants Programme launching Spring 2026). However, organisations serving a broader older population—including those with dementia
The Foundation is looking for initiatives that boost meaningful social interactions for older people, such as:

Befriending services (including meals delivery to people living independently)

Community groups (art classes, dance sessions, lunch clubs, coffee mornings)

Community transport schemes that connect older people to local activities and services

Priority is given to projects in deprived areas of Great Britain, based on ONS, Age UK, and Centre for Ageing Better data.

Applications demonstrating a place-based approach and high impact in areas of greatest need are favoured
