BBC Children in Need

The BBC Children in Need funds project that are working with disadvantaged children and young people, who are under 18 years of age. They have 2 funds:

A small grant scheme up to £10,000 for 1 year projects and the main grants for grants over £10,000 and projects up to 3 years. the next deadline is 1 December for the small grant and 15 January of the Main grant

The grants can be used for direct project costs, these can include, salaries, volunteer expenses, venue hire, travel expenses

Projects must benefit children and young people (aged 18 years and younger) who are experiencing disadvantage through and of the following:

• Illness, distress, abuse or neglect.
• Any kind of disability.
• Behavioural or psychological difficulties.
• Living in poverty or situations of deprivation.

Projects should take the initiative and show clearly how they will make a difference in children and young people’s lives. Address the challenges the children and young people face, build their skills and resilience, empower them and extend their choices in life. Involve children and young people in the design, delivery and evaluation of their work and be keen to keep learning about their work so that their ability to make a difference in children and young people’s lives can keep on improving.
