Applying behavioural insights to charitable giving

I’ve been interested in psychology and giving for some time now; this paper from Behavioural Insights Team show how smalls actions ‘nudges’ can make significant improvement to the number of people who give.

This paper celebrates the generosity of the UK public, and explores new and innovative ways of increasing charitable giving further. It also recognises the important indirect
benefits of charitable giving that recent behavioural research has begun to explore.

This research shows that giving both time and money has large benefits for the wellbeing of the giver as well as the receiver.
